How to create an online product catalogue

This is a step-by-step guide on creating a webstore selling different categories of goods.
This method is perfect if you're selling lots of different products and it makes sense for you to divide them into categories, publishing each category on a separate page.

Let's use an example. Let's create a homewares shop selling four types of products: furniture, lighting, textiles and accessories.
1. Create separate pages for each category and add an individual web address (URL) for each page

Let's create five pages: a homepage and four product pages. There is no need to set the URL for the homepage, simply assign it as the main page in the site settings. Create web addresses for the other pages, for example: /furniture, /light, /textile, /accessories.
2. Create a navigation bar to direct clients to a category page

The way you set up your navigation bar depends on your website's design. You will find the most suitable blocks in the Tile and link category.

In our example we are using Block TE02N. Add it to the page, upload images for each product card in the Content menu, name each category and add individual weblinks for each product page (see above).
A tile – with images and category titles – will appear on the homepage. Site visitors can open category pages by clicking on this tile.
Next, go to a category page and add products to the page.
Creating categories and subcategories

If you'd like to create a subcategory inside a category, you need to set up these additional pages as well as a navigation between them.

We recommend using the 'bread crumbs' navigation menu that can be found in the category Menu > МЕ605.
